After reading all three articles I Felt that they all came up with many interesting points. The first reading talked about how a college degree is becoming worth less and less when it comes to getting a job. I thought it was very interesting in how big of a change their was in the number of highschool graduates going to college now rather than in 1973. I agree with the majority of information that was present in this article I feel that a college degree is becoming worth less and that you need to make yourself standout by taking advantage of other oppurtunities in order to get a good job after college. Students need to get involved in as much as they can while seeking possible higher education to have the best chances of getting hired right out of college.
The second and third readings talked about Skipping college and if that was a good idea for some students. I feel that Skipping may be good for some students if they want to go into a trade or into a union but skipping college in my mind for anything else would never be a good idea. The article does make a couple good points by saying that only two out of the top ten grossing job categories need a college degree so whats the point of getting one. I feel that a college degree can only help in the long run and that everyone who has the oppurtunity to get one should. As long as someone has a college degree they will always have something to fall back on if everything else fails. The range of jobs you can get with a college degree is way greater then with only a highschool diploma. Even if the College degree is becoming worth less and less I still feel that having on puts you in a better position for the long run in life rather than not having on at all.
